Busy.

I am sooo tired. We had such a busy, but wonderful, weekend. We were able to really enjoy seeing my grandmother while she was here, but I also had an early morning senior session on Saturday and an evening pumpkin patch session on Sunday. I had forgotten how exhausting the double session weekends can be, even though I only really shoot for a couple hours at a time! I am worn out and slightly behind on the important task of editing the hundreds of images on my computer... This blog post is my break. :)

My step-sister's baby boy just turned 8 weeks old. We joined my dad and family at his church Sunday morning for a baby dedication in my nephew's honor. My dad's church is the one I grew up in. It was nice to be back with my own family for a visit. Ethan and Marshall are almost exactly 8 weeks apart. It was hard to believe how big my son looked in comparison to this little baby! This picture doesn't do a good job of showing their true size difference.


Funny story... I asked Gracie to help me with folding and putting away her laundry yesterday. I thought putting her panties in her drawer was an easy enough place to start. When I went to check on her progress, this is what I found!


There was actually a pair over his face before I took this picture... Gracie was running around yelling, "He's eating my panties!"

Poor little guy. :) I guess this is just a sneak peek of what's to come for Little Brother!

    Busy, indeed! Lots of fun Fall activities, but I am sorry you're stressed and tired, too. Let me know if you need a coffee break, I can always bring some by after work :-)

    Hmmm, pumpkin patch shoot...where was that?

    Hahaha, oh poor Ethan, the fun has only just begun on what big sister will do! Too cute.

The end is near.

My husband is confident. He's determined, speaks his mind, and lives for a challenge. If you tell him something cannot be done, be prepared to be proven wrong. I rarely see him get nervous, for any reason... almost. My 38-week appointment was this morning. As usual, Sean and Gracie were with me, which I love. I was anxious to get to this appointment because I started having uncomfortable cramping yesterday evening, which then lasted through the night and even into the morning. I've experienced a few other "preliminary signs" of labor which have led me to believe that we're coming up on the end here. After talking with the doctor, he offered to check my progress and strip my membranes. This is when I got a little tickled, even as I was sitting on an exam table naked from the waist down, with nothing but a paper sheet wrapped around me. Hilton Head.

I was feeling heavy. Overwhelmed. Tired. The combination of sick children, sleep deprivation, and very little "me" time was starting to push me down a bit. I don't like feeling that way. I want to wake up with a smile on my face. I want to feel motivated and light . Our Hilton Head vacation arrived at the perfect time. Packing was a nightmare, but once our car hit the highway, I felt it... Freedom . It didn't matter that I was taking a sick child along, or that I was still going to be sleep deprived. Those things are easier to handle when you get a change in scenery, especially when that scenery becomes blue skies and an endless ocean. As we do each year in January, we joined Sean's dad and step-mom for a winter get-away. The weather was kind to us this year. Gracie loves the beach.
