6 Months.

Where in the world has the past 6 months gone? I mean, seriously, I did not expect this half of a year to go so quickly, and I have mixed emotions about it. On one hand, I think time is mean, moves too fast, and took my boy from newborn to solid food eater in a flash. On the other hand, I now get to snuggle with this plump bundle of happiness, who smiles and laughs, while making us smile and laugh too.

(You still love your paci, and you have only ever taken a Soothie, the kind they gave us in the hospital. Lately, you've used it almost like a teething toy, chewing on the sides of it.)

Ethan, you are rolling, squealing, and trying to sit up on your own (this is best practiced in our laps or on the bed, since you topple often!). You are so ticklish, love to blow bubbles, and have started mimicking some of what you see us do while playing. Your favorite toys are anything you can chew on, anything with different textures or crinkly sounds, and your Jumperoo (you sure can jump!). You enjoy when I read to you and Gracie, and when you are super fussy, a silly song can almost always distract you.

We started solid foods shortly after you turned 5 months old. You have now tried Banana, Sweet Potato, Pear, and Avocado. Bananas seem to be your favorite so far. Gracie and I introduced you to apples this week, but based on your hilarious facial expressions and refusal to eat, I'm guessing they were a little tart for your taste. I later mixed them in with your sweet potatoes. ;) You love to eat and usually gobble up every bite!

Ethan, you are still such a sweet boy. I can tell that you will probably also be an active boy. You are so curious about everything around you and want to be in the middle of what's happening. Christmas is right around the corner and we are so excited about celebrating with you! An extra special holiday will be extra, extra special now that you are here!
