My Sweet Grace.

I thought it was time for a more detailed Gracie post. :)

My sweet Grace is doing well. She is still enjoying preschool three days a week. Sean and I met with her teacher for her second parent/teacher conference last week and we were pleased to hear how well she is doing. She is actually one of the youngest in her class, some were turning 4 when the year began in August, but her teacher seems impressed with how on top of things she is. She also pointed out that Gracie seems to express herself through her artwork and crafts. Apparently, when given the chance to choose an activity, she prefers drawing/painting over some of the other choices. She also loves to cut out shapes. She cut out some pretty fancy hearts for our Valentine's Day crafts.

Gracie is still taking dance once a week. I love peeking in on her tumbling class and watching her laugh and burn off some energy with the other little girls. She seems really comfortable among this smaller group of girls her age. She is much more reserved in larger groups, such as her preschool class. She's a lot like her momma. It takes some time for her to open up and let that personality shine.

She's seriously an amazing big sister. Sometimes I am honestly surprised at how good she is with Ethan. She is also very protective. She's not a fan of strangers looking at him, and God forbid another child try to talk to him... As far as she is concerned, Ethan is "hers".

She has such a sweet and sensitive soul. She's thoughtful, insightful, and compassionate, and so very precious to me. I love wrapping her up in my arms and squeezing her tight. I can't believe she'll be 4 years old in only 3 months... She's my big girl, but she's still my baby, too. I'm proud of her and how well she's adjusted to all of the big changes that have occurred in her life over the past 8 months!

This past weekend, we celebrated Sean's 28th birthday. Gracie helped me bake and decorate his cake. I put the icing on, but she is responsible for the beautiful decorations. :)

  1. What great pictures! We have the same Rapunzel dress in our house, too. I'm surprised that Gracie is one of the youngest in her class, even with a May birthday - G is also in a 3-year-old class, and naturally is the youngest, but there are a few June/July kids in her class so she's got some company on the "young end" of the spectrum.

Speaking of dance, have you seen any pictures of costumes for the girls? I was told we'd see them by the end of January, and here it's almost March and still nothing!

  2. Elizabeth, I haven't seen the costumes! I was thinking about that last week. Maybe I'll just ask on Thursday and see what they say! I can't wait for Gracie to see what she'll be wearing! Recital day is going to be a BIG day, the 16th is also Ethan's birthday!

  3. The 16th will sure big a big day in your household, then! I love your post on Gracie. She's such a precious girl. I love her eyes, they are so beautiful! Happy belated birthday to Sean, too. You and Gracie did such a cute cake for him! I know she was so proud of herself to be in charge of decorating it :-)
