Catching Up. Easter 2013.
I think it's safe to say that very little went according to plan over our Easter break and weekend. I was the first to get sick (again...). I spent the better part of Gracie's spring break fighting a nasty cold. Gracie was next in line and spent the time from Good Friday to Easter Monday with a fever and cough. I was thankfully feeling much better by Saturday, when we welcomed my niece into the world, but Sean was quickly going downhill. The brand new Easter outfits we'd chosen for the kids stayed hung in closets on Easter Sunday, and even if we'd decided to at least venture outside for an egg hunt, we couldn't, because it was raining. Ryan and Bekah arrived Sunday evening and, as usual, they were a huge help (I'm pretty sure someone is always sick when they come visit...). Sean ended up with my cold and pink eye.
But, we did dye Easter eggs, the Easter Bunny did drop by our house, and we were able to enjoy a fabulous Easter meal with my mom, Johnny, Austin, my Aunt Denette, and cousin Shannon (who were visiting from Tennessee). And once we were all feeling better, we greatly enjoyed our week with Aunt B and Uncle Ryan.

This past Sunday, I decided we'd re-do our Easter Sunday. After church, Sean and I cooked a "going-away" meal for Ryan and Bekah - maple glazed pork chops, green beans, roasted potatoes... There wasn't a single thing remaining!
And I finally got to dress my kids up in their Easter clothes. :)
I'm pretty sure I'll be laughing at this photo of Ethan for years to come.
I simply could not end this post without introducing you to my brand new nephew, Landon Robert! He was born on April 3rd and we are so anxious to meet this precious boy. This is Sean's brother's son. Landon and Ryleigh were originally due just a day apart, but both made early appearances after scheduled inductions. We feel so very blessed to have two healthy, beautiful new additions to the family!
We love you so much, little Landon!

I'm sorry that nothing went as planned for your Easter week :-( What bad timing! But it was also wonderfully filled with the blessing of Ryleigh's arrival! I love Gracie's Easter dress, so cute. And I am glad that you are all finally starting to feel better again, Sean being the final hold-out.
