Ethan Turns Six!

It is difficult for me to believe that my baby is no longer a baby at all. He's grown into a handsome little boy and is now turning 6-years-old. I am so very thankful for my Ethan; having him in our lives brings more happiness than I could express. His smile melts me. He is so affectionate and tender-hearted. He is a beautiful soul with so many wonderful qualities. I have absolutely loved watching him grow into who he is today.

Ethan,

Where does the time go? It seems that just yesterday I was holding your tiny head in my hands and admiring your sweet little chin and kissing your soft baby cheeks. Now, you are so full of energy and life and I adore every moment with you.

Things About You:
-You have graduated to a yellow belt in Taekwondo. We began this journey after a friend's birthday party in March of this year. You loved the party, you loved your trial class, and now you are hooked. Perhaps the coolest part of all of this is that watching you has encouraged your daddy to begin taking classes as well! You're still a belt ahead of him, though. ;)
-You will start Kindergarten in August! You just completed your 2nd year of preschool and you are now more than ready for this exciting step. You are already reading and seem to have a real love for learning. This eagerness to learn really blossomed over this past school year.
-You love pigs. Pigs are your favorite animal. You're very passionate about protecting pigs and request that we only eat turkey bacon and turkey sausage. I honor this request and respect your tenderness towards animals. I recognize that this is a quality that God can use someday - you are so compassionate and kind.
-You still love your Lego sets! They have essentially taken over the house. We have somehow ended up with a display of Lego sets on the hope chest in our bedroom. We truly love your love of creating and building, so we would choose the mess of Lego pieces over not having them at all any day.
-You are so friendly. You have no trouble meeting new people and seem to enjoy making new friends. You get this from your daddy, no doubt about it. You're a likable little boy, always looking for a chance to play with your friends, but you also play well on your own. You have an incredible imagination.

Your birthday is one of my two most favorite days ever! The day I met your sister and the day I met you are sacred, forever etched in my mind, and held so close to my heart. There is no moment more beautiful than when you lay eyes on your baby for the first time. And now I get to be with you every day and your daddy and I get to raise you and teach you and love you! You are the most wonderful gift from God, more amazing than we ever could have imagined. Always remember you are treasured and adored, by your parents of course, but by our Heavenly Father most of all.

Love, Mommy
