4 Months.
My Handsome Boy... You are growing, so big and so strong. You seem to change a little every day. I love watching you as you discover the world around you and accomplish new things. You turned 4 months old on October 16th, and we celebrated with you while in the mountains! What an amazing 4 months this has been for our family.

-You are rolling from your tummy to your back, although you don't do it as often as you did a few weeks ago. You seem much more content being on your tummy these days. When laying on your back, you now flip yourself over onto your side and you are so close to rolling yourself all the way over.
-You are showing lots of interest in toys, books, or whatever catches your eye. I love watching you stare at new things. You wear such a look of wonder, like you're trying to figure it all out. And then you'll reach those little hands out to grab an object and bring it straight to your mouth. Gracie cheers for you when you when you are successful.
-You love taking baths! You get so smiley while in the bathtub and you keep those chunky legs kicking! Once we get you wrapped in a towel, you scream. You don't like when bath time ends.
-I love, love, love talking with you. You really get going sometimes and I just want to record you so I can hear that baby voice forever. You've got an adorable gurgle going on, too. Just precious.

-You still like to snuggle. You enjoy holding onto your blankie friend (a lion named Lionel) when it's time for a nap or bedtime. I love when you fall asleep in my arms and I can just hold you and stare at your sweet face. I bring you to our bed for your early morning feeding and we cuddle until it's time to get up for the day.
-You are strong! You aren't one to just sit back and be still. If we're holding you, you want to be sitting up where you can see the world. You also like to straighten those legs out and stand with us holding you. Whenever I try to put you into your car seat, and even your swing at times, you throw your body back in protest. Sometimes your 4 month old strength worries me...
-You love hearing me read. During story time you actually do sit still in my lap. I hold the books where both you and Gracie can see the pages and you just stare at them and listen to my voice. I love it.
Your 4 month appointment was this morning. You are now weighing in at 14 pounds, 4 ounces and have grown to a little over 25 inches long. You are healthy and happy, and we couldn't ask for anything more! You handled your shots well... you cried briefly (and broke my heart), but seemed content by the time we were back in the car. You are sleeping soundly as I type.

Here's more about you at 4 months old...

Happy four month birthday to Ethan! I can't believe it's been that long already. Such a precious little man!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a sweet little boy! I love the photographs. My son started rolling early, but has not done it much since, glad to hear he's not alone in that.
