The Fair.
We met some friends of ours and took the babies to the Dixie Classic Fair on Monday evening. The weather seemed nice enough when we arrived, comfortable in sweatshirts and jeans. We stopped to see and feed the animals first. Gracie plopped a one dollar bill on a counter holding small bags of carrots. She was excited to feed the goats. I laughed as she tossed carrot after carrot in the direction of anxious goat mouths, each one hitting the ground. They don't jump up for treats like our dog, and she wasn't interested in getting too close. :)

For our own dinner, we settled on barbecue sandwiches and fries. I always look forward to fair food, even though I know it's going to be over-priced and we're most likely going to eat standing, unless we get lucky enough to grab a free table. Standing actually worked in our favor this year, because as we waited under a covered area for our food, it started to rain. I was optimistic that it would only be a brief sprinkle, not enough to bother our plans to take the kids on a few rides. Unfortunately, I was wrong, but we took the little ones on the Merry-Go-Round anyway. Gracie loves to find her daddy in the crowd and wave and "whoo-hoo" and shout out that she loves him.
In the end, we did leave earlier than we would have had it not been raining, but it was still a fun evening. Gracie got her cotton candy, we were able to enjoy that time with friends, and although Ethan stayed snug and warm in the stroller, he still had his first fair experience. :) We'll give it another try next year!

We're headed that way tomorrow, and I'm hoping it doesn't rain and isn't too chilly! G's been talking about everything she's going to do at the fair for WEEKS now, and I'm excited to see her ride some of the rides she was too small for last year!
