Ripley's Aquarium.
Before we even left for the beach, I knew that I wanted to take the kids to Ripley's Aquarium. Gracie was just a little older than Ethan when we all went for the first time. Since she obviously doesn't remember that visit, I really wanted to go again. :)
Both of my kids had a great time. Ethan was mesmerized by the tanks of fish.
We stopped by the sting ray exhibit, where Gracie was able to touch those that passed by. She was fine with the small ones, but was more cautious of some of the larger sting rays. I can't say that I blame her. She kept asking if they were going to sting her. The employee nearby explained that these sting rays didn't have stingers, so she was perfectly safe.
Gracie also had the opportunity to touch and observe a group of horseshoe crabs.
The coolest exhibit of all was the aquarium tunnel. I didn't take any pictures, but we traveled on a moving path, winding through a tunnel that left us surrounded on all sides by thousands of fish, including a variety of sharks. It was truly amazing to be so close to these insanely large fish and their impressive teeth. The aquarium as a whole was lots of fun for my family. I look forward to visiting again when Ethan is old enough to enjoy all they have to offer!

Christina, Such great pictures! Looks like you had a fantastic time!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such a cool aquarium! We'll have to try and check that one out sometime, too. I love the photos! Especially the one of Ethan checking out the fish tank. And for Sean to smile in a few of the photos for you, too! He's like my husband I think in that sense, usually he just tries to pretend I'm not taking a photo ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe've never visited that aquarium, even though we've been to that beach many times since the kids were born! I had to laugh when I saw your instagram pictures "from the beach" - I hope that big old shark wasn't spotted in the surf, but in the safety of the aquarium!
