Updates on Mommy and Gracie.
Gracie and I both had appointments this week and I'm happy to report that we are both healthy girls!
Gracie had her three-year check-up this morning. She weighed right at 30 pounds (42nd percentile) and was 38 3/4 inches tall (85th percentile). For the first time, the nurse checked her blood pressure. Luckily, this was nothing new for her since she watches me get mine checked so often! She was also excited about getting weighed and measured. Before we left the house, she asked me if she would get to pee-pee in a cup. Her doctor seemed pleased with how she's doing now as a big three-year-old. There was of course one shot to wrap things up, but Gracie did so well. She told me that the medicine in her leg hurt, and she did cry for a few minutes until we could distract her with a prize. Overall, her appointment was great!
I went in on Thursday for the Group B Strep test (which tests for a bacterial infection found in 25% of healthy, adult women). Hopefully, the test will come back negative. If not, it's my understanding that antibiotics will be used to prevent spreading the bacteria to Ethan during birth. So, not a huge deal since the doctors would be well aware. I also had an internal exam to see if any progress has been made. I am 1cm dilated, which was a nice surprise. I know there's the chance that I could stay at 1cm until my due date, but hearing this did give me hope!
I've gained 31 pounds so far in this pregnancy, which is the same amount of weight I had gained with Gracie at this point. I did end up losing two pounds during the last weeks with Gracie, but I'm comfortable with this weight gain (regardless of how uncomfortable it makes me!). I'm looking forward to getting back into a good workout routine someday soon. Anyway, I'm now going to appointments weekly. We're really at the end!

I'm so glad all your apts. went well. I get to have an ultrasound this week and I can't wait! I'm very excited to have a blogging friend due shortly before me so I can see what's up for me next. :)
