Preschool.
Gracie's first day of preschool was today! She was so darn cute this morning, dressed and ready for her big day! I almost cried just seeing her in her outfit with her monkey name tag around her neck!

We had to wake her up to make it on time this morning, but she went from sleepy to excited quickly. As we were getting out of the car to walk her in, I started getting a lump in my throat. There were so many precious little ones walking into the building with their parents, I couldn't believe my baby was one of them! By the time we made it to her classroom door, I was ready to burst into tears. There was a little boy (who is in Gracie's class) clinging to his mommy, crying. I couldn't even look at them, because I was sure I would breakdown. I kept telling myself to keep it together for Gracie's sake and at least make it to the car. Sean and I both got hugs and a few kisses. Gracie gave Ethan a kiss goodbye, too, then walked right through that door like she owned the place and never looked back! It was such a relief, and even though I still felt the urge to cry as we walked back to the car, I never actually did. :)
On Wednesdays, Gracie has lunch at school and then goes with her class, and the other preschool classes, to see a presenter. Today's presenter was the "Mad Scientist". Gracie hasn't shared what he was all about, but we did see a man leaving the building in a lab coat while waiting in line to pick her up! On these days, we pick her up at 1 instead of 12.
Gracie didn't give us all the details of her day, but she did tell us she had fun! She said they painted and played on the playground. When Sean asked her if she wanted to go back, she said yes! I will assume this means she did enjoy her first day! This is going to be such a wonderful thing for her!
Such a bittersweet moment, as parents, to watch our little ones in these poignant growing-up moments. I am not sure I'll be able to handle it with as much grace as you managed to do when it's my turn. I'm so glad she had a great first day and wants to go back again! Relief!
