Rainy Saturday.

This morning I woke to a steady rain. Usually, this would be perfect on a Saturday. I'd love nothing more than to start the day off lazy and linger in bed a little too long with my family. But this morning I had a photo session scheduled, so I was disappointed when I looked outside to see rain clouds that looked a little too comfortable overhead, and a sopping wet ground.

My spirits were instantly lifted, however, when my little guy decided this was the perfect morning to roll over from belly to back for the first time! He's been working hard at it over the past few days. I think I've mentioned a time or two how much he dislikes being on his belly. I laid him down for tummy time this morning, stepped over to open his blinds, and plop, he pushed himself over! Of course I squealed and clapped, then called for Sean and Gracie. I turned him back over on his belly, praying he would show off his new skill again, and he did! Gracie was just thrilled and wanted him to try again and again... and again... :)

When I had my camera ready, he wouldn't roll over. When I didn't, he would. :)

After laying Ethan down for his morning nap, and rescheduling my photo session for another Saturday, I took Gracie on a "coffee" date to Starbucks. This girl loves her "coffee"! ;) The kids' hot chocolate is a favorite for her. I think she also loves that she gets a cup just like Mommy's, just smaller. And for the record, the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate is as yummy as it sounds!

Two hot chocolates and one mini doughnut (with pink icing and sprinkles) later, we were back home to pick up the boys for a couple errands. Later, we all took an afternoon nap, watched a little football... and felt bad for Daddy when the Seminoles lost (again), despite Ethan wearing his lucky FSU socks all day. Basically, the rain ended up being awesome and I enjoyed a great day with my kids and husband. Hope you are enjoying this lovely weekend as well.

  1. What a perfect Saturday! Nothing like "coffee" with the girls! My son says "iced mocha!" insistently, anytime we drive anywhere near our Starbucks, whether we're actually going there or not. He's been saying that for months now...definitely my child!

Go Ethan! I can't believe he's rolling over already! I hope I can see him again really soon!

  2. Glad your Saturday was good even though you didn't get to have the photoshoot. Ethan is so cute! Can't believe he's rolling over already!
